grumpiness of Trevor Sargent

Why is Trevor Sargent so grumpy? He is not happy. I wonder if all his parsnips have been eaten by the worms. Whats going on?
I saw him the other day going into Ag House with a bouquet of flowers and he looked shell shocked. Whats going on and who gave him the bouquet which caused such a display of angst? Maybe it was that there was nobody to carry the flowers or what?

He has obviously heard that local polls said all the Green seats are on target to be lost if any election is held in the forseeable future, and that some of the independents supporting the government are wobbling, so an election may well be unavoidable quite soon.

Maybe he was about to deliver the flowers to an erstwhile supporter?

Working with vegtables is starting to get to him I suppose.
Its only a chat, we ain't the world council.
In 2000 the Women's Institute in Britain gave Tony Blair the slow hand clap to demonstrate their contempt.
It was dignified, restrained and effective.Doesn't Bertie deserve the same scorn. No shouting, no abuse, no agression just a relentless slow clap whenever he speaks in public would be enough to end that man's presidential fantasy.

There may be a new govt but there won't be an election, because that would require the Taoiseach to go to the Park to ask the president for one. Biffo knows that means wipeout and so do the Greens, and the latter would make not calling one a precondition of crossing the floor to bring Enda, Eamon and possibly Caoimhin to power, A repeat of 1994 is more likely than an early election. Remember too that FFer Mary Mac will not want to call an election that destroys her party, and that she can say no to an election if it's a minority Taoiseach asking her. As for TS, perhaps as a man of principal who fell on his sword he is aghast at the new leaderships' litany sellouts to FF.
