Shouldn't the above bar people from elected office.
And politicians blame the media for apathy.
I think this calls for breaking out a Blackadder quote from the archives...

Edmund: Right. Now all we have to do is fill in this MP application form. Name:
    `Baldrick'. First name...?

    Baldrick: Er, I'm not sure.

E: Well, you must have some idea...

B: Well, it might be `Sod off'.

    E: What?

B: Well, when I used to play in the gutter, I used to say to the other
snipes, "Hello, my name's Baldrick," and they'd say, "Yes, we know.
    Sod off, Baldrick."

E: All right, right right right right, `Mr. S. Baldrick'. Now; distinguishing
    features... `None'.

B: Well, I've got this big growth in the middle of my face.

E: That's your nose, Baldrick. Now; any history of insanity in the family?
Tell you what, I'll cross out the `in'. Any history of *sanity* in the
family? `None whatsoever'. Now then; criminal record...

    B: Absolutely not.

E: Oh, come on, Baldrick, you're going to be an MP, for God's sake! I'll just
put `fraud and sexual deviancy'. Now; minimum bribe level...

B: One turnip. Oh, hang on, I don't want to price myself out of the market.

My politics is not FG and I'm not a Fitzgerald fan either - actually I find her a little irritating, but from what I hear from the Raid group in Rathcoole she has given them more assistance than Gogarty has. Can you tell me otherwise?

I have heard that she voted for incineration but don't know that for sure, but if she helps stop this proposal I don't care, but I would have expected the greens to be protesting the most about this one.
Particularly given the rumours are that Poolbeg will not go ahead so it adds up why this location is pushed through on a strategic infrastructure bill.
Something that the greens should be very worried about given Gormley's opposition to an incinerator on his door step.
It begining to look like people in West Dublin are going to be shafted to save D4.

the kitten quote is very funny and if delivered quickly illustrates a sharo wit, so I think we can let that go.

as for his recent behaviour, it sounds like he's under a lot of stress and acting erratically. however I think Hayes, and any commentators, should perhaps alter their language and not pick away at it in such a manner. Language like "in a manner not befitting the office of TD" rather than "mental" would come across better

I gather Hayes was got the diagnoses from the Docs Reilly and Varadkar who like many are quite worried about Paul. Reilly suggested he start eating meat, well grilled, as in incinerated!

Some of the leaflets he has been putting out in DMW recently have been strange as well. He keeps appointing new local reps for the party every month and causing confusion for the greens locally. As things stand they are in for a hiding in the locals next June.

That leads to an interesting question as to whether the Greens should be incinerated?

It seems that a certain party want to monopolise the public campaign against the proposed incinerator in DMW and from what I have heard Gogarty was put down and told his opinions were irellevant at the recent public meeting. Just because he is in government does not mean that he should no longer be allowed to express his true opinions in public.

The playing dead thing was so obviously Gogarty having a laugh. This whole story “his best friend died and then his dad died and now he’s going mad”….well it seems like a bit of a pathetic attempt to undermine someone who has always showed integrity on local issues, which is more than can be said for some.

The waste issue is huge, absolutely huge. What Fine Gael say now may not be what they will say in government.
