Technically Tibet hasn't ever been a country outright, and it's been said that the Dalai Lama wants autonomy not independence. This is a valid point. It's an aspiration of many Tibetan people however and nobody can say that the problems in Tibet are anything other than shocking.

Gormley meant well by saying what he said and I admire his integrity for sticking to principles and saying it, even though it may cause issues later.

Kudos where it is due. I may well consider involving myself with the Green Party. They seem to be getting the job done with their promises, unlike some I could mention.
