Eamon Ryan defends the FF/PD government of 1997/2007

I only got around to watching last week's WiPolitics this weekend and one very odd thing struck me that Eamon Ryan was defending the government's performance in the ABA area by talking about the record since 1997!

Since when did the Green Party decide to take credit for things not to mind agree what had happened prior to their entering government?

He's normally a very accomplished media performer, but I thought McManus chewed him up on motor tax. Haven't seen him look that uncomfortable in a long while.

    Balderdash!
If FG had half the wonderfulness of Eamon Ryan, they would have 300 seats now!

I presume this is a urine extraction?

Can't sit through the programme to see, so can someone post up a transcript of what he actually said?

That guy is painful to listen to. He keeps thundering on about 40 % while Liz says there is no change. I imagine if there are 40 kids waiting for ABA placement and 16 or so eventually will get that then we have his 40%.

It is the same waffle about the "Fastest Growing Broadband in Europe". I would prefer to see the most advanced MATURE BB in Europe. Growing takes years and fast growing still takes years.

What is being foisted on us is a load of figures gleaned from the CSO which might be impressive to some but the harsh reality is that we are nowhere near European standards in Education, Healthcare, Road Network, Broadband among a myriad of other infrastructures.

    Fact and figures, go figure.

Just click on the specific piece about ABA and at the 46 sec mark he makes the comparisons with 1997. Why? The Green's weren't in government then, it was neither their fault nor to their credit what happened from 1997 to 2007 so why use it as a benchmark?

Because the Greens are addicted to being in Govt and want to ingratiate themselves with FF forever and ever. I don't fault them for that, but I just wish they would be gracious enough to fess up to it.

Leave Ryan be for the moment, he is about to step in and stop the notorious "subscription service" scam that mobile phone operators are using to fleecing the public. There is no way that a FF or a PD Minister would do this. they are too far up the asses of the likes of O'Reilly, O'Brien etc. Imagine being able to use your mobile again without worrying if some parasite is creaming your hard earned cash.
