and how they have failed to do things (that they couldn't legally do in the first place - and would not have been allowed do even if they were in with FF light and FF lighter) that they (and I) would have liked to have seen done.
Id imagine an example of this would be the Poolbeg incinerator.
Except of course, the problem is that Mr Gormley promised he would.
He made a commitment, in order to get elected, that he knew full well he wouldn't have a hand in, as it was a ABP decision.

So, I'm afraid we cant absolve Mr Gormley on the 'I cant do anything about it' technicality, seeing as he knew full well he couldn't do anything about it, but ploughed ahead giving voters the perception he could do something about it, when it suited him to do so.

    Learn what?
You've been giving us the 'Im really clever, I know things, but I cant tell you' usually accompanied by the winking smilie (see Tosser' in dictionary) for nigh on..... oh a year and a half now.

I see no evidence of you being particularly clever, or knowing much more than anyone else. You did this to great effectin the childcare thread, where qtman of all people made you look like a fool.

Curious that! I've a letter here from POBAL that contradicts most of the nonsense that qtman spouted in that thread.

Dan Boyle did the exact same re Tara about 4 months ago. Nothing has changed since.
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

I can't see any real difference myself. For the government the election might as well have never happened and I can't see any fundamental differences between the government before the election and after it. Every policy the government was implementing before the election is still being implemented and the government hasn't really started doing anything new.

That wouldn't be enough. We need a non-FF/Green government to wipe away the stench of corruption.

I think the greens are actually making a difference in government. They have introduced several environmental legisation changes and as much as people like to maon about them rolling back on promises and what not, they're doing a lot more by been in government than sitting in opposition counting the days to the next election.
