    Poolbeg incinerator gets go-ahead

What are the political implications for Gormley?

Probably about the same as hospital co-location.

It makes sense to locate this "centre of excellence" in Dublin. This plant should be able to treat the waste of the nation.

This wasn't his final decision was it?
So how would it be his fault?

Of course, did he campaign at any point in the election against this incinerator?

I didn't say it was his fault - of course it wasn't. But I wonder if the good people of Dublin South East will see it that way.

There isn't much point comparing John Gormley's pre-election campaigning with what he's doing now.

    I mean, look at this.
15 Jan 2001 -- Fine Gael pledged to end fluoridation because of "serious health concerns".

Did I hear right on the radio that ABP have given permission to an even bigger capacity than was sought?

This was not unexpected. There is a long way to go before any incinerator is actually built. John Gormley and the rest of us have a lot of work to do, to ensure that better alternatives are put in place.
