The tree-huggers HAVE taken over the asylum!

Apparently incineration is no better than landfill according to our new Minister for the Environment. Can I suggest that everyone who has the chance should now forget about all that "power of one" stuff and just chuck everything into the nearest black bin bag.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

Has that not always been the contention?

The Power of One campaign was about conserving electricity.

I believe that Gormley is trying to tackle the production of waste at source. After all it's reduce and reuse before recycle. FFPD policy was to burn our troubles away once we were finished burying them. Incinerators even come in under the Strategic Infrastructure Act ffs! They are but a stop gap, a necessary one, but not the only solution. JG was just highlighting this fact.
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

Great to see Gormley making a real impact as Minister for Environment.

There is an incinerator in Vienna city centre!!!!

The NIMBY opposition is nonsensical. The usual bleatings. And Gormley is local TD, coincidentally.

Didn't P45 Mick oppose the Poolbeg incinerator? While the govt he was Tanaiste of was proposing it? Talk about NIMBYism. Also Tom Morrisey's vision left it out conveniently.

I'm sure the residents of Dublin South East are delighted with his priorities anyway. No chance of a major landfill on Poolbeg.
