The Greens propped up Fianna Fail until a general election was inevitable and imminent. They only pulled the plug in order to save face before an angry electorate, the pathetic losers.

I blame them more than FF for the IMF coming into this country. As least you know what you're getting with FF - treacherous snakes. But the Greens had a responsibility as coalition partners (once they deceived the electorate to get to into power) to look after this country's national affairs and instead they steered the ship onto the rocks.

They enabled FF throughout that disastrous and farcical term in office. From supporting Bertie "Briefcase" Ahern when no-one else would to voting in the RDS to greenlight the Anlgo bailout and ensure the country's demise. And all for what? A few f*cking bicycle lanes?!

They are beneath contempt and I'm delighted they got wiped out earlier this year. I hope we never see them again and I hope they get wiped out at grass roots level as well - at least then we won't see pathetic attempts to re-write history.

With the exception of apportioning them MORE blame than FF, I agree with your post.

There is certainly a role for Green policies in Irish politics, whether we need the Green Party is questionable. However, I think both Eamon Ryan and Trevor Sargent were impressive while in the Dáil. The rest were pitiful.

If only a third of all parties sitting TD's could be considered "impressive" - then there might be no need for the Green Party
