The Green Farming Policy Takes off

In one of his first Speeches as a member of Government, Trevor promises some great goodies for the farmers:

Ban on GMO foods. Most cheap feed for farming is GMO based – should make the farmers income very, very tight.

5% Target for organic food production - great one for the hippie farmer. Not sure the Beef and Dairy farmers are overjoyed

Honestly, organic food taste much better. Organic Veg doesn’t have that chloride wash taste, organic (or even free range) taste like chicken and not like the awful battery chicken grown like plants in stuffed conditions. But the majority of people want cheap produce – just visit Dunnes or Tesco at look at the percentage of organic produce on display.

In his next sentence, Trevor promises a review of the EPA. Brilliant, get rid of all those smelly pig farmers. Then follow by the less smelly Dairy/ Beef farmer.

Where will we get the organic sh!t for all our organic crops?

While I was canvassing for FG, the thought of the Greens frighten the living (and many said f**k*ng) daylights from them and would vote for the safer FF option. Many of these voters were Farmers.

The living daylights are screaming across the Glens, Valleys and Pubs in Rural Ireland tonight.

Next to come - Removal of one off housing into Urban Ghettos. Oh yeah – they will have fresh water and proper sewage systems.

    It aint Funny !!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm not a farmer, but I do own a farm, as the rental income from it is pretty useless, I'm interested in seeing what they come up with to kick off biomass production

jaysus MacO. I agree with you.
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

What about Farmers who are trying to make a living from their farming.

MacO, this is a typical Green (Party) attitude, thinking every farmer is a hobbie farmer

Funny, i was reading those, the farm is in Galway,no major chance of rezoning it as its not as close to a major town as would make a difference, its been ain the family for generations and anyway i'd rather see it producing as opposed to developement(establishing me green creds there or wha??) problem is i live in Dub and work here so looking for something to utilise it properly while at the same time not hobbie farming...........perusing the greens biomass policy as I type..................!

I thought all Irish farmers were hobby farmers. Heavily subsidised by the rest of us, I might add.
    Economic Left/Right: -8.25
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.82
