    Richie Boyd Barrett

While there were a possible 500 ordinary Green Party members to interview, the 9 o'clock news last night decided instead to give a forum to Richard Boyd Barrett, SWP head honcho, head of an SWP front, and put up for election by _another_ SWP front, to tell Green Party members how to vote. Does anyone know why his opinion should possibly be of any interest? Why did the news not, say, give a forum to FG, Labour or PD leaders to tell the Green Party how to vote? How odd.

saw his pic in the times today as well. The guy gets way too much airtime. And for someone who conned DLR by running as a front candidate for the extreme left, and nearly cost the Greens a seat, and probably cost FG another one, he has some nerve protesting against one of the most democratic parties around.

15 minutes are up richie boy, and take that ahearn fella with you!
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

    I totally agree.

Boyd Barret is a compulsive attention-seeker and a dilletante.

I have no interest in socialism but I imagine true socialists must be embarrassed by this guy

you know at times i wish that he was someone whose politics i agreed with / liked as he's pretty articulate and passionate about things and greats amazing coverage, imagine what he'd achieve in FG/FF or a major party as opposed to the loony left where he'll never achieve anything in Ireland
Enda Kenny on FF government: “We’re in this mess, not because Fianna Fáil policies have failed, but because they have succeeded.”
