Oh aye...saying he'd resign, and then resigning even though he'd changed his mind about the deal, just to stick to his word. That'd be disgusting, that would.Originally Posted by brenners'

He led his party into government with FF against what he said, resigning after doing the deal makes it all the more dishonurable - unless you interpet his first statement to mean he was prepared to dot the I's and then leave, I take it to mean he would not be a party to entering coalition, its a cynical way to do politics and is a new low!!
BTW dave dont take it so personal!![]()
He has resigned. Yes he has. He made a speech and announced his resignation publicly to the media.
I demand that those who have been on the attack (against me) acknowledge this.

You'd need to look at what he actually said, then, which was that he couldn't lead the party into coalition with FF, but would serve in such a coalition. He has stuck to his word.Originally Posted by brenners'

He has resigned and will not take a ministry. Will remain as acting leader until new one takes over. Just on newstalk.
Newstalk are reporting Sargent won't take a cabinet position.
