    Dublin West Bye Election

Who will the Greens run in the Dublin west bye election and do they have any chance of taking the seat?

Is this an election where the winner gets sent off on a trip around the world or something, with everyone waving to them, shouting "Bye"?

given that FG and labour have both done ok in the polls of late you'd imagine whichever of those parties wants it most will win the bye election

ROTFL, with the ************************e weather I really needed a laugh and this was the best one I've had in weeks.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

    Who cares?

And no, they have absolutely no chance.

    And its by-election.

Out here in Dublin West I reckon the general consensus is the the following are the candidates so far

    Labour- Clr Pat McNulty
Fine Gael - Clr Kieran Denison
Socialist Party - Clr Ruth Coppinger
    Green Party - Roderic O'Gorman
    Sinn Fein - Paul Donnelly
Fianna Fail - Conor Lenihan, if not him it will be a female candidate who is a somebody (it will not be either of the sitting councillors)

I could see FG pushing hard to get the extra seat. I believe that none of the sitting TDs would like to have another TD from their party with them, especailly the Government TDs.

I also presume the by election will be held the same day as the presidential election

Presumably they would run Eamon Ryan. Chances of winning - zero
