Haha. Isn't it obvious? They turned the term 'Green' into political vote repellant leprosy.

Ditto for me but for some unexplained reason I can't start a new thread. Care to oblige. We could enquire after the other goms as well.

Except that deal was done before the Greens entered government.

Haha ... the old "it was like that when I got there" response! Seriously, is the average of the Green apologist 10 these days?

Do the Green party take any responsibility for the disgraceful FF/Green coalition? Do you guys take any responsibility for the mess the country is in? Probably not. Because it was like that before you entered Govt in 2007 right? And that is exactly why the Greens are finished as a political force for the next generation or two.

Johnny G did start a review into allegations of planning irregularities. He even got as far as appointing a "panel of experts"

    Pity FG have scrapped it..

The Department of the Environment has confirmed that independent experts will not now be carrying out a review into allegations of planning irregularities.

The previous minister, John Gormley, had asked for a review of planning decisions by Dublin and Cork city councils, as well as county councils in Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork.

Public advertisements led to the appointment of a panel of planning experts from which a team was to be appointed for the review.

@Dcon ... look at the list of co councils Gormley was looking at. Can you see anything they have in common?

I'm off the road because of the Greens?

I am off the road because my car tax has gone up to €1000 pa (4x250) on my 1993 honda.

That is €10,000 car tax demand over the next 10 yrs ... big ouch!

I drive just 5K pa as a pensioner and my car emits far less CO2 than my neighbour's 520d on 20K pa

Yet he pays just €225 pa car tax.

I am now (a pensioner) asked to subsidise new car owners ....

Daft Greens ... economically illiterate .. artifically promoting new car purchase and transferring €6 Billion pa out of the economy! No one told them we dont have a car industry!

Applied to Joan Burton for a "Car Tax Allowance" like the Fuel Allowance, Phone allowance, ESB allowance, Childrens allowance, rent allowance etc etc .. in the hope of gettting back on the road.

Meanwhile thumbing lifts in my neighbour's nice new BMW 520d on 137 g/Km CO2 tax band.

Enjoy your new car but acknowledge it is at a price and I am now paying the price of the Greens in Government ... pensioners forced off the road.

So how do you enlighten the Irish to elect grown-ups?

I think outsourcing may be the answer ... to IMF, EU, ECB ... I dont see it as loss of anything!
