    One of the candidates for the deputy leadership is Northern member John Barry, so there could well be a North-South element to the leadership. Voting for the leadership is also done on an all-Ireland basis. One of the hustings for the recent leadership election was held in Newry.

    There is really only one issue about Ryan; how long before he stands down as leader "to spend more time with his family". I figure 18 months. Leader is actually his first JOB in the party - he was never around when there was work to be done

    Ironically, had he joined FG - his natural home - he'd be vying for Taoiseach - in - waiting
