    Trevor Sargent on Newstalk

Did anybody else who heard this think that he sounded way more radical than usual? Did it sound like he was saying he'd have serious trouble going into government with FG? The phrase 'Fianna Fáil Lite' seems to mean they don't see much difference between the two.

Didn't hear it - did he really refer to FG as FF-lite?

Didn't hear Newstalk but the RTE coverage yesterday gave the clear impression that Sargent was commiting himself to Fine Gael. Not a clever move I wouldn't have imagined.

He seemed to commit himself to FG, but then pissed us off by calling us FF-Lite.
    I think he's looking for each-way in a 4 horse race.
There is a school of thought emerging (well, in my head) that Sargent isn't as clever as he should.
He has had a poor campaign so far, and is uninspiring and wooden. Gormley is far better, as is Eamon Ryan.

Seems to be panicking a bit. And is running the danger of pissing off both FG AND FF voters. Not very clever Trevor. Nine seats maximum and even at that they will be pushing it.

Quite liked David Davin-Power's description this morning "As they say in Africa. When two elephants fight it's the grass that gets trampled".

He was very poor on Morning Ireland. He doesn't seem to have prepared answers for questions he is obviously going to be asked.
The only way to change the world is to win elections.
