Probably to allow Green HQ more money to spend nationally advertising etc .......

(do all Green candidates have to allocate a certain% to HQ if they want to run?)

I'm impressed. That will stand to ye in 2009 locals!
As a shinner disappointed that we missed 2 constituencies but happy we will make significant gains.

This will do good for national vote share for the Green Party. As national vote share the parties will finish up:

    1. FF
    2. FG
    3. SF
    4. LAB
    5. GRN
    6. PD

Are you referring to the state funding the party receives? You're not allowed use that in an election campaign, so no. God forbid that we might be doing it to give people democratic choice and to increase the party's national representation.

What constituencies did SF miss this time and how many did they miss in 2002?

Not everyone in politics is rolling in money trying to find ways to blow it. Where have you seen all these expensive Green ads?

Have to say, congratulations to them on that achievement.

Regardless of who people support or don't support, it is always good to see a specific group, like the Greens, spread their influence and have people run for election in as many places as possible. It is good for democracy and I for one applaud their efforts to involve themselves in all the constituency battles this time round.

SF aren't running in Lim W, Kil S and Cork NW

2cndidates in Dub S may have given rise to the thought hat it was 2 missing. ie: 41 candidate

I hope SF can get a runner, even a paper candidate, in at least one of them, but I think it's done and dusted now.

    Well done Greens though!

Nice to see you following our lead!

But seriously, well done. It's good for democracy that the widest possible choice is presented.
