My point was simply that saying the proposed casino is "in the middle of nowhere" is no reason to oppose it. I presume the promoters know exactly where it is, and it is their money they are investing.

People can have all sorts of legitimate reasons for opposing the casino, but scepticism about the commercial success of the venture isn't one of them.

Casino's in Vegas, and elsewhere in the States, offer free drink to people who are gambling.

I cannot see this being the case in Lowry's project.

"There is no such thing as a free drink."

No, but I would be happy to lose 10 bucks in an hour gambling while getting 4 beers gratis.

Losing EUR 10 in an hour while paying EUR 20 for four beers in Las Lowry is much less appealing

If you drank four free beers in an hour you would probably lose a lot more than ten bucks, which of course is the whole idea.

In any event, I cannot see how you know what, if anything, the proposed casino will charge its customers for drinks.

Quirkey says it will all go ahead even if he doesn't get the casino licence.

    And pigs will fly.
