A bit late in the day. Probably too late to make up lost ground?

    Time

Near to the election, certainly. But with good old Paddy Power rating PD Colm O'Gorman as least likely to occupy a seat in the next Dail of the so far 9 declared candidates for Wexford, I'd say a hard working man like Tom Harpur will finish ahead of Colm in that constituency.

Don't think its a good idea for a GP candidate to focus on very specific health issues.

Green votes are going to come from Energy, Transport and Planning.
The only way to change the world is to win elections.

    Issues

Green Party issues are much broader than that. Energy, public transport and planning are core issues associated with the Greens in the minds of the electorate and these will always be reinforced. But GP candidates who broaden out the issues to other areas such as health and canvas to back it up stand to pick up many votes from those who are disillusioned with public services currently.

Sinn Féin have already marked out health as one of the priority areas.

More generally Sinn Féin are going into this election to present a plan that will help the least well off, through the many opportunities for fairer taxation and through better public services regardless of ability to pay.

Sinn Féin have also increased in transfer friendliness as a result of some initiatives over recent times - this will deprive the Greens of many transfers. So these changes may pose difficulties for the Greens.

your probably right Wexfordman.. but I'll tell you, any man that could turn water into wine would go down a treat with most wexford people I know

Although, if he could get the Wexford hurling team to beat Kilkenny in this years Leinster Championship.. now that would be a really impressive miracle

It'll still get the national vote up either way.
