Fianna Fail TD will demand his resignation as minister for an inappropriate attempt to intervene in the judicial process.

    His position is untenable.

Once they were under the influence of FF this kind of thing was inevitable.

Trevor Sargent is being accused of attempting to prevent the Gardai going forward with a criminal prosecution according to the Evening Herald. Trevor wrote directly to the individual Garda in the case on Dept of Agriculture headed paper looking for the summons to be dropped in a case involving a constituent stating to the Garda that going forward with the prosecution was 'wholly inappropriate' and 'shocking'. The person was subsequently convicted in the Courts of using threatening behaviour.

FG and Labour may be looking for his resignation.

If this proves true then the rule that each and every Garda promotion is at the behest of a politican must now change.
