No, she is saying that FF did not honor an agreement with the Greens, whereby she would get a job in Geoghan Quinn's cabinet, and the Greens did nothing about it. Thats why she left, she asserts. The Greens being FF mud guards etc. She also asserts that she found out she was not getting the job from, it would appear, Mary Harney.

You note that she says she was told by a Senior Cabinet Minister, who was not a member of the Green party. Now, why not just say FF. Answer = it was Harney.

If they were in any way smart they'd be all nicey nice and publicly wish her all the best, thank her for her service, talk about what a pity it was she left, that they appreciate her sincerity even though they disagree with her conclusions. Instead they've turned into one of those cults who won't let their people leave without destroying them. Unseemly.

Which equates to not getting a better plum job than the plum job she already has.

Yes, but she is making the argument that it was not disappointment with not getting the job, it was annoyance over FF putting one over the Greens again.

Most definitely. Nobody is interested in the minutiae. She had a great job, wanted a better one, didn't get it, left in a sulk.

And that's for voters within an above average attention span.

Would Dick Spring have taken something like that from a coalition partner? Would Dessie O'Malley? They were better poker players.

    Yeah right.

The fact of the matter is that once MGQ was appointed, she had 100% control.

If any shafting went on, it was by MGQ. If DDB had any respect for the institutions of the EU, she'd know that National Governments forcing the hand of their appointed Commissioners is strictly verboten.

MGQ is the only one who comes out of this with any credibility.

She fired the first shots - and certainly aimed to cause as much damage as possible. Her initial statement was dishonest - as it left out the bit about the€120k p/a European job.

If she'd been criticizing them for non personal reasons - it would have been a far more polite affair.

Who knows. She did, in fairness, turn down the Court of Auditors Job.

Mind you, who in their right mind would want to work with MGQ!!
