    Ciaran Cuffe's YouTube Videos

I'll admit that I'm somewhat biased, but I just came across Ciaran Cuffe's YouTube page.

Compared to some of the earlier offerings from various other candidates (from across the country), it's quite good. I had heard that he was going to do some videos, and was expecting the usual cringe-worthy rubbish.

    Thoughts?

    Edit: Oh, here's the link.

yeh i saw one of em the other day where he walked through the backlands of Dun Laoghaire. Excelllently executed, and utterly unlike the usual muck politicians come out with... Also enjoyed this FG one

We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

Videos like this are a great idea but only work when they go for simplicity (like above). Politicians trying to be hip and cool in the presentation of their videos always fall flat on their face.

If I were Ciarán, I would be more focused on selling myself than saying how great Trevor's speech was. I must admit it puzzles me that in a party with people like Cuffe, Gormley, and Boyle, how someone as uninspiring and forgettable as Trevor Sargent is the leader.

Because he was there slogging away in the Dáil and building up the party long before they became TDs. You may find him uninspiring but Trevor Sargent is the only Green TD to top the poll in his constituency. That is no mean feat for any small party.
