Well, Ciaran only has a couple more years to suffer I suspect. And yes, it is quite offensive to people who pay his salary.

I think the electorate in Dun Laoghaire may take the view that his continue presence at Leinster House serves no purpose. That will be in 2012 of course.

No doubt the voters will free him from such tedium come the next election.

Folks, all I was saying on my Tweet was that the meeting was moving slowly.

I want to see Dáil reform move faster with more topical debates, earlier sittings and less set pieces. To make that happen it requires SF, Labour and Fine Gael as well as the Government Parties to be in in agreement. We're meeting again next week and hopefully we can see some changes in effect within the next month or so.

I'd welcome any constructive proposals on the types of reform that you'd like to see in how the Dail does its business. For instance, how can we make the Dáil hours more family friendly, particularly for non-Dublin Deputies?

    All the best,

    Ciarán

Ciaran, you should be ashamed of both yourself and your party.

Both you and the rest of the Greens in Govt are a disgrace, and I will never ever vote for any of you again.

We have a system where the Executive renders the Dail virtually irrelevant and your priority is family friendly hours. Sheesh.

    An actual government TD? Fantastic!

Ciaran, I can imagine that trying to reform the Dail is a tough old business, turkeys voting for christmas and the like...however it needs to be done.

You should contribute more to sites like this, i know you will get a shedload of abuse especially from the nay sayers here, but i for one welcome you to P.ie, despite my grievances with your party and your gubberment.

    welcome anyway!
