    on the verge of litter

    Have you ever being driving our towns and cities and notice whats thrown in our ditches and verges recently on a trip from cork to portlaois we came across endless amount of truck tyres just perched up in ditches on central divides also tonnes of domestic waste. in the eyes of tourists they must think we a are a race of dirty people. it doesnt have to just a trip from cork to portlaois try cork wexford cork kerry etc etc. some people dont care just fling and forget
    an idea people serving time should be instructed to clean up these areas [/b]

    Irish people don't see litter, hence its not a political issue. Our system of litter prevention is based on trivial fines and isn't enforced in anyway by Local Authorities.

    After cost, litter accounts for the 2nd highest level of dissatisfaction among foreign visitors, according to Failte Ireland.

    We need a system of litter prevention based on giving litter an economic value.

    indeed like community service this same idea should be extended too those long term unemployed :!:
