Gornley and Ryan - The most hated politicians in the states history?

Having spoken to a number of people over the last few days there seems to be some pretty serious anger directed towards the Greens. Seems that people expect corruption etc from FF, but expected the Greens to be above that. Its now clear that the Greens are the same as FF, and people who voted for Greens feel like they were conned.

I think Gormley and Ryan have done some very serious damage to the Green movement. When this excuse for a political party finally gets shown the door, it will be a very long time before we will have a Green agenda in government.

Green supporters must be sickened by what these traitors have done to their party.

It seems to me, from comments made by some Greens at the Twestival yesterday (the twitter festival from inside the RDS), that, to some degree, the power went to their heads.

With all the media attention focused on them, they got a sense of collective invincibility and self-importance. Alas, they have no idea how utterly silly they appear to almost all but a few vested groups such as students who -bless their youth!- view the saving of €900 in college fees as being a fortune.

Of course they aren't, that would probably be Bertie Ahern at the moment.

They are the most hated politicians in digout's little head right know, and as we all now, digout has a Dev-like ability of being able to know what the Irish people want just by looking into his own heart

I voted yes to not supporting NAMA - I mean I voted no to having NAMA not implemented - no, sorry I voted yes to not accepting it, didn't I?
Who would have thought that the Greens would have come up with this latest twist on democracy!

My immediate gut feeling is to agreewith you, BoE, but then I step back and think of Harney, JOD, Wee Willie Winkie &c &c &c.

So a big no. They'll soon enough be forgotten. The ones who took their time doing the damage are the ones who'll be longest remembered.
