    Trevor's Magill interview

I was struck by this passage:

"If the other parties don't appreciate the need for serious change in this country then I'm quite prepared to walk away, let them think it over and come back to me.

"I don't want any position in a Government that will be just arranging deckchairs."

It's word for word what he said in an interview with Andrew Lynch in the new neo-con Magill two months ago, a quote repeated in the Irish Times. Obviously Trevor thought it was such a good soundbite, he'd use it again.

That unerved me a bit, when Trev was saying that all I heard was "unstable govt unstable govt unstable govt", it looks like even if they do join up they won't be able to stay united and FG will not get their coalition relected yet again!

FG-Lab-PD looks even more likley now.

Who's more foolish: the fool or the fool who follows him?

You know people can walk from one party government too you know. Remember how the PDs came about?
And you think a coalition with the PDs/labour would be more stable than one with the Greens in it. What are you like!

CleverTrevor said at the Green Conference:
I don't want any position in a Government that will be just arranging deckchairs on the Titanic

This is the thing that continues to piss me off, there were no deck chairs on the Titanic, it was sailing in the North Atlantic in the middle of April when it hit an iceberg, hardly the sort of weather to be lounging around on deck.

If that's genuinely what bothers you, I think you're on the wrong website.

Perhaps, but the greens don't really bother me, I see them as a source of amusement, like Trevors peculiarly shaped head, Eoins seminal nod at rebellion in the absence of a tie, the wretch! Or the whole Chemical Ciaran debacle...I just think the greens are a mini uproarious riot.
And this whole stand by the party against tying their flag to anyone's mast - look, if they're lucky they'll be required to make up the numbers in a blue/red/green/miscellaneous government, some social ministry will be doled out and that'll be it - the rest is a charade.

To the 'Chemical Cuffe' debacle-I think you're handing out debacles too easy. See, for it to be a debacle, there needs to be accusation, denials......a week where it's discussed by the medias...... further revelations by the media........'internal discussion'..............firing/apology/resignation...............analysis.........and then it ends. With Ciaran it was accusation, he 'fessed up, apologized and we moved on-very different from the FF way of doing things. Which is kinda odd, cause with the amount scandals you guys are involved in, you think you would have gotten the whole routine down to a tee.
As for your second paragraph-you'll never understand, and we dont expect you to. We aint desperate to get in power like the careerist OFFers in your party-we care about getting our aims achieved. If that's in government, we'll go into government. If that's out of government, we'll remain out of government.
