If an election within a year- how many from 5 TD's returned?

Will any of them lose (or even not run) if an election called?
Are any of the 35 candidates who stood for City Council good enough to stand? Worth their while standing?

    O Cuiv ?
    Fahy?
    Grealish?
    Higgins?
    McCormack?

I think Fahy will be in trouble. The councillors elected in the city are all one group and its not Fahy's. O Cuiv will be safe and will help Fahy's rivals as much as he can.Grealish gets a huge personal vote and the chance that he might hold the balance of power and still has some of Bobby Molloy's old voters could see him safe.
There is def one Fg and one Labour seat.
    Others would include
Brian Walsh-every chance if he stands
Healy/Eames-less and less chance as people get to know her
Crowe-has added to his position in the city

    Insider article in Advertiser today

Any thoughts on Insider piece in Advertiser today? Suggests Noel Grealish might join FG and thus kill off any chance for Fidelma HE to win seat in next GE for FG. Concludes that FHE must target Grealish's seat. Interestingly it also claims that both FF seats are safe. I would think that Frank Fahy's seat is most under threat given the results in the locals and the national trends and not Grealish. Funnily enough all sitting TDs mentioned except Frank!

It's hard to see Grealish joining FG, he has a FF background. I think there is two FF seats in Galway but Fahy will definitely face strong competition from Crowe.

Eames wont even get the nomination. She couldnt even get her husband into council in oranmore. She nearly cause FG to loose the last seat. Carrol got in by the skin of his teeth. Headquarters wanted him to run from Start, she threw toys out of the bag. Shes just a trouble make for FG, and watch her fall. Grealish to FG. Never happen. hes FF stock, and bobby molloy stock. He doesnt need a party. Frank Fahey will be under pressure from the crowes. No one else.
FG nominations for next GE, will be McCormick, Padraig Conneely and Jarlath McDonagh/Liam Carroll from this side, id say. If I see Eames on the ticket again, ill switch allegiances !!!

Eames is as bad as you make out, but Conneely is a buffoon. Neither should be anywhere near the ballot paper.

Conneely apparently is much more popular on the ground. You see eames problem is, she spends too much time on the radio and papers and not enough time working close to the ground. Do you ever see Mccormick making as much noise around the place? no, as hes too busy doing the work at the peoples level. I think People are starting to see through her now, and hence why i think, we wont get that elusive 2nd seat if she runs again. Headquarters should just put the footdown this time. If she cries, let her off independent, she wouldnt have a hope anyway.
