Dont vote for councillors in Galway

Does anyone agree with me that any current Galway councillors running for election have a nerve. They should be putting their names on resignation letters not ballot papers.

The water fiasco is the reason.

They all new the danger and the threat in the water upto 3 years ago and instead of doing anything ignored the problem and hoped it would go away.
They are all blaming each other on the doorsteps now. This pass the buck attitude is what is wrong with Irish politics
I am excluding any candidate that is a councillor from my list of preferences.
Hopefully more people from Galway will do the same and ensure incompetance is not rewarded.

To be fair, it's the council officials and the dept of environment that is to blame for this. The councillors found out the same time as the public. I think that more of the councillors could be making more of the situation but some of them have been very vociferous

They became vociferous after the fact.
An engineers report was on the city managers desk 3 years ago.
The councillors knew alot longer than they are telling us.

You do realise we are talking about Jo Mcgrath here. that guy keeps things very close to his chest. i can assure you that the councillors hit the roof when they found out he had the report for three years. Councillors have no executive powers by the way. The city manager can choose to ignore their wishes as he did when they voted unanimously for free water for residents in Galway
