    Final Predictions

So we are almost there and still everything is far from clear. So lets throw in our predictions and see who is closest to being right.
Write your five canditates down in order of who gets elected first, to fifth and include Parties for those who arent familiar with Galway West.
Then we can check next week and see who was spot on and who was completely off the ball.

I'll get the ball rolling then:

    1. Eamonn O Cuiv (FF)
    2. Niall O Brolochain (Green)
    3. Frank Fahy (FF)
    4. Michael D. Higgins (Labour)
    5. Michael Crowe (FF)

Green taking a seat from FG won't happen. Greens are going to have a problem in transfers which they normally get because they are green and we like to do a bit for the enviroment.

Objecting to the roads (other bypass and Claregalway bypass) which are needed in Galway is a veto to guys I talk too. They went from fluffy and nice to no bloody way.

Galway people know that the city needs this to remain competitive. So

    1. Eamonn O Cuiv (FF)
    2. Mc Cormack (FG)
    3. Frank Fahy (FF)
    4. Michael D. Higgins (Labour)
    5. Michael Crowe (FF) or Grealish (PD)

This thing is won on transfers, OCuiv will bring in Fahy. But the last seat will be brought in by Crowe transfers to Grealish or Grealish tranfers to Crowe.. I think Crowe might pull it off

    1. O'Cuiv
    2. Michael D
    3. Fahey (hope I'm wrong...)
    4. O'Brolachain
    5. Crowe

I have a feeling I might be wrong about Fahey he does seem to be in awful trouble this year ( though he's been in almost as bad in previous elections) and from what I know, O'Cuiv was openly canvassing No.2's for Crowe which I would believe as it's no secret Frankeen and O'Cuiv aren't exactly drinking pals.

For what it's worth and I am sure that a lot a people will disagree but I am going by the local polls here and the more upto date regional polls:

    1. O'Cuiv
    2. O'Brolachain
    3. Mc Cormack
    4. Fahey
    5. Grealish

I am predicitng that it will be Michael D that will in fact be the one to 'walk the plank' if the latest polls are to be believed!

Green and labour first pref has to grow from 15% to 23-5 % to have a chance of 2 seats. I can't see it. I'd agree with Cowboyted. Last seat is between Grealish and FF (either FF or MC) with Cuív, FF or MC, FG and Michael D. FF need at least 42.5 % first pref. for 3 seats. Still bookies giving 1 to 8 on in places for NOB. That means 6 to 1 against not to take a seat!

I think Mickey D will Top the poll and If he had a half decent running mate would bring him in on his coattails. Galway west Is a basket case of a constituency this time round
