Whatever one can say about the neocons favouring large centralised government (which RP has on occasion rightfully pointed out)- I don't think they would, or could have a patch on EU governance, post Lisbon II that is. God bless us all, if they get their hands on the levers of governance. In fact I remember watching a video, with a very pompous Frenchman by the name of Valery Giscard D'Estaing giving a speech in Washington on how he, and the other writers of Lisbon II we're similiar to the founding fathers of the United States- I had to reach for a bucket as soon as I heard this.

A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

Lol was going to put D'Estaing's proclamation in that last post- however I didn't want to cause upset or similar happenings with others, as to what happened in my circumstance when I happened to see it!

I found it an accurate description of neoconservatism. Do you have any specific problems?
