Hitchens is a neo conservative? Aside from his support of the Iraq war, how are Hitchen's views that of a neo conservative?

Good question toasteroven but it is a bit dated. Three years ago he was unknown except for market watchers. Each year he would introduce his Federal Reserve Bill and might get at the most a handfull of sponsers. That is no longer the case. This year has ALL republicans and about 100 democrats. 276 representatives in total.

On economic matters he is the leader or the republicans as can be seen from cnbc, cnn, foxbusiness and msnbc.

On the Senate side and even stranger thing happened. The independent socialist Bernie Sandars has introduced his bill and 3 democrat senators and 16 republicans have signed on

The future looks bright. Peter Schiff will likely run against Dodd and his son is running in Kentucky. Every seat will be targetted in 15 months.

    I coud not be happier.

"Neo-conservative" is, among many abusers of the term, equivalent to "vocal supporter of the Iraq war".

it is a fairly good description of neo-con government. The only people who dont recognise that are people who have clue what a neo-con is.

Hmm. Can you point to a lot of people who would support the war but separate themselves from the rest of the neoconservative package?

Excluding of course people who were lied to by the neocons?

Yeah a real American who tried to justify 9/11 Ron Paul's scum and don't even get me started about his pandering to conspiracy nuts.

Take a look at history..Many of the world's conflicts were due to interference. US interference. 9/11 was a result of US presence in the Middle East.

They created the Taliban and Al queda. They are the cause of what we know as fundamentalism.

The British, Italian and Spanish governments and all the others who joined in; of course I forgot Poland. Some of the Republican and Democratic Parties in Congress. Many people supported the Iraq war who you wouldn't call neo-conservatives, unless the term is being really stretched.

Of course, you wouldn't accept this because you think they are "people who were lied to by the neocons" rather than informed agents making a decision based on their own judgement. However I think this would absolve them from any responsibility, which seems repugnant to me.

    Set theory: I think {Neo-cons} C {Iraq war supporters}, you think {Neo-cons} = {Iraq war supporters}.
