Bush mulled sending troops into Buffalo

The Bush administration in 2002 considered sending U.S. troops into a Buffalo, N.Y., suburb to arrest a group of terror suspects in what would have been a nearly unprecedented use of military power, The New York Times reported.

Incredible. I'm sure the militia movements would have gone nuts.....

It wouldn't have been subject to the Posse Comitatus Act, would it? It would be a matter of national security and not even one that would have initially required and of t he measures in the Patriot Act either I don't think.

Would have caused a rucus none the less.

It would have at the time but since then legislation has been passed which gelds Posse Commitas.

For the exact bill, without looking it up, you must ask the P.ie American Experts like Tommy O Brien and Hopi Scratcher.

I know they changed it after Hurricane Katrina so the Army etc could work there but after that it was changed back.

There is a way around posse comitatus ,and that is to make military members reserve border patrol agents or reserve U.S. marshals.

True, but there are a lot of gun owning Americans with a distrust of government who would see this as a major line crossed.
