Obama blocking investigation of Bush terror

Obama blocking investigation of Bush terror

"Despite revelations that the CIA kept members of Congress in the dark about a covert intelligence program, and calls for an investigation into the matter from Democrats, President Obama is no closer to looking into the potential misconduct of the Bush years.

"The president's thinking on this has not changed," Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said of potential investigation. "That's why I referred back to the [speech at] the [National] Archives... his reaction to this is very similar to his reaction at the archives."

The Attorney General is rumbling even so.

The evidence of his personal and family history suggests that he has been involved with the Security Services for a very long time. He was greeted with rousing cheers and a standing ovation when he visited Langley.

There is no suprise here, only sadness that people who voted for him in good faith have been so cheated.

Anybody that thinks Bush and co. will ever see the inside of a jail cell are sadly mistaken.

    And you expected . . . .?

And you expected . . . what, precisely? Obama defending the old school is like Fianna Fáil defending the bankers - it's what you do. Yes, we know that Rumsfeld certainly and very possibly Cheney should be dragged before the Hague on war crimes charges. But don't expect any US president to do it.
