The 2nd anniversary of a defining moment in Pakistan's history passed around four days back.

I remember being woken by the impact of mortar shells that morning. I went onto my terrace, and though my house is relatively far from the area in the clip, I could hear the gun fire and explosions quite clearly.

The crisis came to a head when the Red Mosque militants raided the hose next door to mine and kidnapped 9 people, most of them Chinese massage therapists.

This was an interesting time to be in the city.
