I think it is. Ahmadinjads main conservative rival, Mohsen Rezai, has a raft of proposals aimed at breaking the impass over the nuclear row. Some of his suggestions are very original and very good. They move Iran firmly away from Nuclear proliferation and firmly into the nuclear energy market, while Ahmadinjad is busy test launching rockets for a a weapons system he insists does not exist. Mohsen Rezai also promises to improve ties with the US. All of this means and end to many sanctions and the beguining of the economic turn around Ahmadinjad has failed to deliver.
A presidential TV debate happened last week in Iran, with Ahmadinjad looking a bit desperate, claiming he will realease dossiers on three previous governments(?).

The link says there was no clear winner in the debate, but when Ahmadinjad is attacking his opponesnt wife (?) you have to wonder if he is not more than a little desperate.
i believe alankelly is in with a shot.
