Anyone out there with more knowledge on how the US system operates care to elaborate? Looks good though methinks

The Illinois General Assembly is about to rock the nation.
Members of state legislatures are normally not considered as having
the ability to decide issues with a massive impact to the nation as a
whole. Representative Karen A. Yarbrough of Illinois' 7th District
is about to shatter that perception forever.

Representative Yarbrough stumbled on a little known and never utlitized
rule of the US House of Representatives, Section 603 of Jefferson's Manual
of the Rules of the United States House of Representatives,
which allows federal impeachment proceedings to be initiated
by joint resolution of a state legislature. From there, Illinois House
Joint Resolution 125 (hereafter to be referred to as HJR0125) was born

Just to think that there was impeachment proceedings against Clinton because of an affair.

About time too. I hope they can push this one at least as far as the Clinton proceedings. Perhaps this could become a tradition for lame duck second term presidents even?

Yes, a vindictive impeachment months before second term midterm elections. Worked well last time for the opposition party, why not give it another go?

    A few things.

    1. This won't work.

    2. Even with a democratic landslide in the mid terms it woudl't work as they republicans would never vote for it.

    3. You can't get impeached unless you get a blowjob in the oval office taking the country to war under lies and ignoring the bill of rights apparently dones't count.

    4. Have you SEEN the people down the Presidential line of sucession that would take over if Bush was impeached...they are far WORSE than him!

At the time they impeaced Clinton, the republicans, ironicaly were blasting his military internations in Bosnia and Kosovo, saying the US should not police the world

and they wonder why people are so cynical about politicians.

He lied under oath. Committing perjury is an offense that undermines the entire judical system. The fact that the Commander in Chief was allowed get away with it is a travasty of justice.
