If US stop backing Israel we are screwed.
Nothing to reign Natanyahu in and nothing to protect Israel from Jihaadists.
Israel will be target number on, then the US then us good auld infidels in Europe.

Post No. 13 in the Talkback section is particularly interesting:
First phone call to Abbas. First interview to al' Arabiyah. Video to the "Islamic Republic" of Iran - not to its people. That bow to the Custodian of the Two Mosques, and support for the Saudi "Peace Plan". No problem with Iran enriching while we talk. Engaging on Durban II, and the intent to join the Human Rights Council. And the active embrace of Syria.
Oh, and there's more. More arms to Lebanon, both directly and via Turkey. US green light for joint Turkey-Syria military exercise. The daily warning against taking action against Iran. The Mitchell trip. Clinton whining about house demolitions. Jones to NSC. Freeman (almost) to NIE. No F-22s, no F-35s with Israeli mods, and a likely drop in funding for anti-missile defense.
And let's not forget how Ashkenazi was snubbed by everyone but Jones and Ross on his trip to the US to discuss the Iranian issue. And all they wanted to talk about, it seemed, was a Palestinian state.
Face it. Obama will not go down as Israel's "greatest friend ever". And Israel must be prepared to tell the US "No" when the crunch comes.

It would be no bad thing if it is. This state is nothing but a nuisance. Let them fght their own wars
Might be a good thing the extremes from both sides are in power in Gaza and Israel as it wasn't until the nutters in the North took over - Pailsey and McGuiness - that there was an actual proper peace. So maybe the nutters in Hezbulloh and Benny and his Moldovian mafia nutcase will the ones to seal a proper peace deal once and for all.
Yes, but what happens if the Israelis start to feel "lonely and unwanted"?
Obama and his people are well aware of the Israeli perspective, well aware of how the Israelis have been calling the shots, well aware of who Israel's nieghbours are, and thankfully are in general much better informed about the world in general than the current right wing Israeli government, which sees things only through one pair of spectacles.
The pendulum is not necessarily going to swing completely the other way, but at least it looks like it will be closer to middle ground. It's about time.
One little snippet of info about the heavy reliance on US travel/tourism in Israel, for example - at Ben Gurion Airport, once you have successfully passed through repeated security checks and you are in the "inner sanctum" just before going to your gate - all the shops have their prices in American dollars and have prices on them that would gag a horse. A kosher MacDonalds in the airport with some assortment of MacDonalds-style Middle Eastern food was also rather interesting. It was the most popular place in the aiport.
No, Obama is unlikely to just simply cut ties with Israel, but is just as unlikely to allow a hard right wing Israeli government to unilaterally determine regional politics in the Middle East, something which would affect us all.
It's too soon to predict the outcome yet, however. Seems to me he is only just getting started!
