    Young Saudi girl's marriage ended

This story has made me ill since it first surfaced, although no were near as ill as I am sure the child in question has felt.

BBC NEWS | Middle East | Young Saudi girl's marriage ended

Yet still we fete this nation for investment, personally, I would rather starve than deal with a regime that condones this sort of behaviour.

When will we start to sit up and say 'enough is enough' to the Saudis, between whipping women for being raped, sending terrorists off to what are in essence holiday camps:

The instruction, which also includes sport and art therapy, is designed to prepare young men for a job and make it more difficult for al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups to recruit them.
I was never one to desire revenge nor the death penalty, but the above speaks volumes about how little Saudi Arabia views the rights of women.
If I could mass-sterilise the planet, I would. Seriously.

Saudi Arabia have recently sentenced an old widow woman to be flogged (forty lashes she is not expected to survive) and deported because she asked two men who weren't relatives to get her some bread. Any western country who deal with Saudi has to hang it's head in shame. We protested apartheid in South Africa - well this is apartheid too against women.

I know the circumstances surrounding it, but am I wrong in feeling this is a bit of a victory? Public outcries seem to be generating quite a few reforms and undoing unjust judgements in saudi arabia of late, and let's not forget that the young girl in question and the mother fought for their rights and won, against that of the father. I see hope that Saudia Arabia may be dragged into the twenty first century by it's own people at the expense of the judicial/prince-based oligarchy.

    ... and in Afghanistan:

He’s forty, she’s eleven. And they are a couple – the Afghan man Mohammed F.* and the child Ghulam H.*. “We needed the money”, Ghulam’s parents said. Faiz claims he is going to send her to school. But the women of Damarda village in Afghanistan’s Ghor province know better: “Our men don’t want educated women.”

I wonder if our resident muslim goon will have the balls to comment on the scumbag practices of his most revered of countries and its cult?

Dogs are treated better than women in Saudi Arabia.

Indeed. Islam is about nothing else but oil, its the sole reason it is allowed to exist outside of these backward countries. Its also the reason why we have goons such as Liam Egan converting to Islam and setting up shop in Ireland as there is a quick buck in it for him.

The UK government in particular has bent over backwards to Islamists for fear of any oil related backlash.
