Does seem to have been rather slight 3.7 magnitude, centred in the Ulverston area.

I was just reading the Mexican one : Article - WSJ.com
Course ... I forgot the Sellafield Nuclear Plant is in Cumbria. Just as bloody well this was a 3.7 magnitude only - that's all we'd need; economic meltdown, pig pox and Sellafield going "wobbly" (assuming it hasn't)

jasis you are negative today (hmm) :
BBC NEWS | Europe | Pope urges quake area 'rebirth'
They are vying for souls in Italy and Damian Thomson (who i follow on Twitter cos he's funny and curses a lot) just tweeted

One could forgive the poor souls in Mexico for thinking someone is out to get 'em tho! ... dodgy economy, followed by pig pox and the recent fairly high magnitude earthquake ... no doubt supporters of the Maya Calendar/Dec 21st 2012/end of the world theory will hop happily onto it (seeing as the Mayas were centered around Mexico after all!)![]()

I don't think playing (or tooting) the horn on Mayan Calendars helps people's lives rebuild.I would be looking at
Calderon's response very carefully in this instance (oil rich bush-buddy)
economies should be taking care of their infrastructure and their weakest, lets see
how Calderon pans it out

Hmmm ... further re Sellafield .... 20th March 2009 "A DARLINGTON engineering company has won a £1.5m contract from the Sellafield nuclear plant in Cumbria which could create an extra 30 technical posts.
Mech-Tool Engineering Limited will design and build an earthquake proof multi-services processing module for Sellafield's sludge packing plant."
Darlington firm wins £1.5m Sellafield contract (From Darlington and Stockton Times)
Presumably this means the sludge packing plant ain't earthquake proof with a fecking earthquake this morning in that area of the country (albeit 3.7 magnitude only)?
I'm not exactly sure what the sludge packing plant contains but I assume it would contain not so nice stuff that wouldn't want to be left out of that particular location.
Wouldn't want to be any more tremors round those parts methinks (and for this not to have been an initial "minor" one either)
Stop Press:
Small earthquake in England. Nobody injured.
