I was only quoting his friend and publisher who claimed to have been speaking to him recently.

And if "Eduardo" was politically involved because he was a Bolivian and it was his country too what about the other right wing European characters .. the sniper and so. Were they partly Bolivian or just looking for work like Dwyer.
theyll be telling us he was only over birdwatching next . And Evo Morales is not in a postion to make Obama say boo .The violence emanating from the right in Bolivia is very real , particularly in that region . Evo Morales has absolutely no need to invent a case of fictitous attempts to overthrow his authority by violent and illegal means because very simply the rightist opposition has threatened to and frequently done just that very openly and unashamedly .To the point of openly attempting to split the country itself in two . Right wing paramilitaries have shot peasants down with virtual impunity in that district to dissuade them from taking advantage of land reforms within the constitution . Neighbouring venezuela has been dealing with the reality of rightist mercenaries infilitrating their borders time and time again over the years .
We also have an established track record of a largely right wing media in that part of the world concocting the most outrageous lies , neighbouring venezuela again being a case in point . And lo and behold we have posters with a previous fixation on that part of the world who openly support coup attempts claiming these guys were only observing an electoral process and posting messages of remembrance for them on social networking sites .

Its also amply clear from the numerous photogrpahs of this young man he had a militarist fixation that was definitely within the realms of the unhealthy . An unhealthy fixation like that can lead you into some very dark corners and it appears precisely that just happened

Another newspaper, La Estrella del Oriente raises many questions about the possibility that this was a Government-managed propaganda exercise, timed to coincide with Morales' trip to Trinidad & Tobago for the 'Summit of the Americas', and designed to cast suspicions on anti-Morales politicians and business people in Santa Cruz.

An opposition member of parliament, Walter Arrázola, is quoted as saying that the death of the alleged terrorists is, blatantly, a triple murder.

Unfortunately, this episode looks like becoming completely politicised, which will not be helpful when it comes to learning the truth.

The Irish Government should certainly be considering a formal demand for an international investigation, which would include Garda forensic experts.

You have been watching too much criminal minds. No offence Merle but are you qualified to draw those conclusions. To me, those photos made him look like a clown not a terrorist, but then again, I am not qualified enough to tell.

    "Neighbouring venezuela" !!!!!!!

Merle H, did you sleep thru geography at school? Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and, above all Brazil stick their big asses between Bolivia and Venezuela. Caracas is as near to La Paz as Moscow is to Dublin.

Ah yes. I have so much "rage" against foreigners of any description that I seem to be the only poster here who has enough Spanish to understand the Bolivian news reports, and am one of the few posters here with enough knowledge of South America to know that Bolivia and Venezuela do not border each other.

In contrast, Kev is a monolingual Little Irelander. He may have got as far as Old Trafford, or perhaps even a burger and chips week in Tenerife, but he knows nothing of foreign cultures.

That's fine, perhaps he never got the chance to travel or hasn't the money or self-confidence to do so.

But he's a racist. No, that's not empty abuse, it's fact. You see, just a couple of months ago he was on this site providing defense and justification for the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians. Now, THAT'S racism. And it's evil.

Actually, I'm fluent in 3 languages but whatever. You do realise that being called a racist by you is the ultimate confirmation on P.ie that one isn't a racist. Now go trawl the Sunday papers to find something, anything thats anti-foreigners, red box. Trawl, troll.
A P.ie moderator stated this on June 25th 2010: P.ie tolerates very broad free speech, and thus allows sectarian bigotry etc

I'm not buying it. The Tribune is saying the dead were found in their underwear and one of them had their hands tied behind their back. This is just a sinister attempt by President Morales to create a Reichstag-fire provocation to justify Venezuela-style dictatorship. The Mail on Sunday says that the hotel owner is saying his CCTV is blocked out at the time this gunfight is supposed to have happened. A UN investigation is needed, and we should exploit our relationship with America (especially the Democrats) to push for this. There is little love lost on both sides of the American-Bolivian relationship. Morales is another Chavez and this is his excuse for turning Bolivia into a Venezuela-style dictatorship. An Irish citizen has been killed in suspicious circumstances, and his family and the Irish people deserve answers. EU sanctions may be necessary in order to get to the truth.
