Now, how/why on earth did Mike Dwyer come to establish a Facebook link with Flores?
And then he just happened to move to, of all places, Bolivia?
And he just happened to be in the same provincial city, and even the same hotel (wrong place at wrong time thesis) as Flores, who was under police surveillance?

    Curiouser and curiouser!

I know this must be bewildering and traumatic for his family and friends. But it certainly appears that some of his acquaintances were not exactly typical for a young man from Ballinderry or a recent graduate of the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology!
as far as im aware mike only had a bebo page not facebook

Exporting mercanaries from the first world to poorer countries to assist in overthrowing elected governments is simply unacceptable behaviour.

If Mr. Dwyer was engaged in this type of activity, then he got what he deserved. If he was killed by some accident, or simply got in over his head, then he was very very unlucky and is deserving of our sympathy.

Except for statements from the Bolivian Government no proof has be proffered to show that these men were involved in any attempt to assassinate the Bolivian President. Has there being any substantiation that a gunfight occurred between them and the Bolivian police, so far all the evidence seems to point to three unarmed men being shot dead without warning in hotel bedrooms still in their beds only wearing their underwear
There seems to have been a rush to judgement here and in the Irish media without proof that they were involved in some conspiracy to assassinate Morales.

really? where have I set out such views? I've simply pointed out that there is no evidence to your assertion that he was a pacifist, and plenty of evidence to the contrary. Pacifism is more than just thinking violence is unpleasant, you know, it's a philosophy which precludes it as a valid method of trying to achieve political change.

OK, you're getting hysterical here. I never described Serbia as a victim (although many individual serbians clearly were). However, to go to war with them over another country is not a pacifist action, and his continued tribute to Tudjman is rather far removed from the picture you paint of a pacifist..

    War crimes allegations

Had Tuđman lived longer, he would have been brought up on war crimes charges by the UN Yugoslav war crimes tribunal in The Hague. Graham Blewitt, a senior Tribunal prosecutor, told the AFP wire service that "There would have been sufficient evidence to indict president Tuđman had he still been alive."[6] The Tribunal's indictment of Croatian general Ante Gotovina lists Tuđman as a key participant in a "joint criminal enterprise" aimed at the "permanent removal of the Serb population from the "Krajina" region by force, fear or threat of force, persecution, forced displacement, transfer and deportation, appropriation and destruction of property other minority belongings & means."[7] In 1995, Carl Bildt had suggested that Franjo Tuđman was as guilty of war crimes as the "Krajina" Serb leader Milan Martić.

Nothing new about the media rushing to judgement, unfortunately.

They were long term at the same hotel. I don't see terrorists using facebook as a tool to communicate.

The Irish Examiner is reporting that he was skilled in Krav Maga.

    I wonder is that significant?
