The Family Guy clip regarding the majority of the press coverage is hilarious and so appropriate. It has been absolutely ridiculous.
Just for a little bit of perspective I think it's important that everyone knows that the clip you posted is from the Bolivian network UNITEL. It is one of Morales' harshest critics and one of the countries most important networks. I've also seen many clips regarding this story from that network. It is not surprising how critical of Morales' government it is when you realize the majority owner of the network is a man by the name of Osvaldo Monasterio Nieme. He is a very wealthy land owner (his family controls land about 3 times the size of the city of Santa Cruz) as well as full owner of a Bolivian bank by the name of Banco Ganadero, and he is a friend and ally of many of the wealthy anti Morales characters already discussed here.
Osvaldo Monasterio Nieme is not a fan of Morales for various reasons, one of them being the fact that some of his land lies on the Mutun property El Mutún - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (the worlds largest iron ore deposit) and which the government just signed a multi billion dollar deal with an Indian company over. Monasterio Nieme wanted to block the Mutun project because some of it was partly on his land (Bolivian law does not give mineral rights to property owners). However, the government expropriated some of that land (which Monasterio Niemes family allegedly received freely as political favors in the past) and made a powerful enemy in Osvaldo Monasterio Nieme. You will be hard pressed to find any positive news regarding Morales or his administration coming from that network.
Just a little perspective regarding where some of the news is coming from.
I agree with your last three paragraphs UHM.
