Personally I'd rather a few neo-Nazi scumbags got killed than the democratically elected leader of the Bolivian people. No one forced them to go to a foreign country and attempt to kill their elected leadership. I don't like FF but it doesn't mean I'll try to kill their leadership.

Some of you right wing wing nuts seem to have a very fleeting commitment to democracy.
You are assuming the story is true. I don't know one way or another, but this fellow, from what I have read on his site, doesn't strike me as a serious right-wing assassin. Morales has previous in suppressing reports on previous alleged 'assassination attempts'. That's why I put the 'involved' and 'assassination attempt' in the thread title in inverted commas.

Who would you believe? A corrupt Government or all of his friends and family.

I believe that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, the man was in his underware, unarmed, what was he fighting back with?
30mins shoot out...... more like 30seconds.

A guns stash...... it wasnt in the hotel. it was somewhere else.
    3 unarmed men dead........... WHY?

Oh of course not, obviously the Bolivian authorities flew a random guy from Ireland put a gun in his hand and shot him just to look good.

Look I'm sorry for your loss as a friend of his, but the fact you know him is irrelevent. Your friend had a choice, he didn't have to go to Bolivia to try to overthrow a democratically elected government. He chose to do so and is dead as a result. No one forced him to do it. Mourn for your friend by all means but don't blind yourself to what he did just because you don't want to believe it.

Yeah sure why should we care why an armed Irishman was hanging out with armed far right extremists in a foreign country flashing new found wealth.
Must be the residue of the Columbia defense mechanism that has you over here slabbering.

I feel sorry for his mother and sisters, you could sense their worry in the messages on the bebo site.

They are the real victims here.

Fianna Fail are not involved in this, are they?

He was shot in his underware, why would you flee to your hotel then strip your clothes off?

And why would police shoot an unarmed man?

Oh yes I forgot, Morales and Chavez are just fiendish dictators who ingeniously pay actors to act in free and fair elections to elect them and who go around looking for random tourists to pretend to assassinate them!

Maybe this guy isn't guilty if not I apologise, but assuming he's innocent just because a few wingnuts like you want the opportunity to attack governments you disagree with is nonsense.

You, no more than anyone else here, know what this young man chose to do. You do not know the circumstances and are simply trying to present your opinion as fact. Wait for the facts to be established before jumping to conclusions. As TA has said, Morales has form.

Actually I woke up when I read your phrase. You see, I would bet my pension levy that you know SFA about Bolivia, and could probably not even find it on a map.

So the only proven corrupt government I know of remains Fianna Fail.
