Look at it again Toxic. The bottom parts of the "SS" symbol end in a point, the top parts are square. No SS symbol has this feature. They are the same on top as on the bottom. But it is a common feature in tattoo designs.
Also you have in Michael's tattoo two symmetrical parts at the top which parallel the two symmetrical parts at the bottom in the "SS" design. It's merely because there are two that people are interpreting it as an SS symbol but in fact it is an integral part of the design.

I'll put it this way, if he didn't see the potential for it to be seen as 'SS', he'd have to have been pretty bloody slow...
Can't believe you are discussing tatoos again... Go, open up a "how to tell a nazi by looking at him, and not knowing what is going on in his head" topic, and bring the childish discussion there.
News will be coming from Hungary, which will heat up the Bolivia topic.
And:
Flores's grandfather was shot into the danube river by nazis during WWII. His father, and himself were communists. But ERF wasn't thinking about ideology, he rallied friends for his cause from both left and right.

The tattoo discussion seems a bit pointless at this stage. It's obvious people have made up their mind, I personally could see it either way although I don't think it's very relevant at this point. That being said, it is worth mentioning that the white supremacists on stormfront certainly recognized it as a white nationalist tattoo. Who knows, I think there's bigger questions that we should be asking at this point.
Is this journalist well known by any of you. Is he an investigative reporter or a latin american expert or just your run of the mill reporter.
This section from the Irish Times link which Almanac posted up a few posts back is rather interesting http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/...245137987.html
Mr Sosa (ps - he is the public prosecutor) also denied accusations within Santa Cruz that police acted illegally. “In this case the presence of a prosecutor was not necessary. The police just went to the hotel to see if the men were there. There was a confrontation and they defended themselves.”
But hotel staff have told The Irish Times police raided the hotel during the night in a military-style operation involving more than 30 men.
Civic leaders in Santa Cruz say the law clearly states such police actions require the presence of a prosecutor and are demanding to know why a Santa Cruz prosecutor who arrived shortly after the incident was denied access to the scene.
This tallies with an Account I heard on drivetime on RTE Radio this evening going on about the Public Prosecutor being denied access to the scene. and yet here we have the same Public Prosecutor saying his presence was not necessary as the "police just went to the hotel to see if the men were there"![]()
