RTÉ News: Morales rejects calls for probe into deaths


This would appear to contradict a report by RTE News that Morales has rejected calls for a probe into the killings and the alleged assassination plot against him.


"Mr Morales told reporters that other countries have no authority to request an investigation.

The Bolivian leader added that international calls coming to the defence of the accused assassins were ill-placed since it was 'these people who came here to make an attempt on the life of the president'."

He hasnt rejected a probe in to the killings. He, like most countries would do, have rejected an international probe into the killings.

There's a big difference between whatever Roche said and this geezer inferring that this country was behind a plot to assassinate him .... if he DID indeed say that as per Utopian's prior translated post ... saying that someone was on hols in the country is rather timid compared to inferring this Country is trying to knock off the President of Bolivia

Aside from which, what difference does the vintage of the weapons make?? They killed people pretty effectively in the world wars. Most terrorists use a variant on the AK-47. JFK was assassinated with a 19th century model of rifle.

it would be highly unlikely that a plot to kill a head of state in the 21st century would be carried out with weapons from the early 20th century , almost 100 years old . Those suggesting the weapons dated from a century ago were using deliberate lies in the Irish media to suggest the existence of a plot was a fabrication . That they succeed in getting the media to play along with their deliberate deception and spin points to them having some influence given the fact modern weaponry was put on display in Bolivia .
