Are you a terrorist? I might be.

    This is very odd indeed.

I read this a couple of days ago and assumed it was nonsense, but the source was good so I kept an eye on it and now it seems it's all true.

Homeland Security document targets most conservatives and libertarians in the country

Remember that now-retracted Missouri Information Analysis Center report which stated that small-government types (specifically Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin supporters) were potential terrorist threats? According to this new Homeland Security report, all it takes to fit the terrorist profile is to have general anti-government feelings or prefer local/state government to federal control over everything.

The federal Homeland Security Department document entitled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Environment Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment” contains the following definition:

That effectively makes Ireland today worse than Afghanistan
We all love animals. Why do we call some 'pets' and others 'dinner'?

Yes and the irony is that governments in states like Britain and the US have, down through history and right up to today, inflicted more pain, death, destruction and suffering than any group of terrorists could ever hope to achieve

Just evidence that governments the world over are finding it hard to reconcile their objectives with the stated desires of their citizens.

If citizens don't want mass immigration, screw em.
If citizens don't want globalization, screw em.
If citizens want protectionism and tariffs, screw em.
If citizens don't want military adventures and war, screw em.
If citizens oppose federalist experiments that benefit a tiny minority, screw em.

Its not a question of the citizenry being ignorant of the pro & con arguments for these things, they know that they don't want them. Governments, or more accurately, the elites behind government are not interested in allowing citizens political outlets for these concerns so they demonize the views to try and delay the day when they must confront them. Its just a pressure cooker environment waiting to explode.

If I don't want further European integration and/or centralisation does that make me an international terrorist?

Here is how it works. The Paulites think it was a bad idea to kill a million innocent Iraqis so they are right wing loons. The Obamobots want to kill a million Pock-i-stanis and they are koolaid drinkers. Change.
