    What colour is this revolution?

We've had orange and rose. And velvet. Okay, that's a textile. Sorry, I'm getting side-tracked.

Anyway, it's all happening in Chisinau (Kishinev to our ethnic Russian friends), the capital of Moldova. Crowds have stormed the parliament claiming that the weekend's election was a fraud - orchestrated by the ruling communists.

Independent observers have said that the elections were fair but the EU seems quite restrained in backing what seems to be a legitimate government....?

None of this is helping the country's dire economic challenges. It's Europe's poorest state and has a GDP per capita less than that of Pakistan. Ouch.

I do know the colour of any prospective Irish revolution:

Here's the weird thing: according to that BBC report, the Communists want closer ties with Russia and the EU.

    Is that allowed?

It might be European money. Javier Solana is being quite ambiguous.
