Anybody else getting sick of the Teleprompter Man

Just wondering if anybody else is like me getting fed up of Obama. Not just his inane and totally insincere rhetoric but the fact he is everywhere with his prompter telling everybody what to do. This extolling of the EU to accept Turkey is interference and makes me wonder what his real agenda is with regard to Europe. At least the French are standing up and the rest of EU should too. There's plenty for him to do at home where he was elected!!!!

Is there something "inane" and "insincere" about his support for Turkey? I'm trying to figure out what the point of your post is.

To be honest I would far rather he got the finger out and actually achieved something in getting the US economy going which would do far more for the world than anything else..

The US has been saying that for years. It sounds like Obama is just taking his foreign policy cues from the State Dept.

I would have voted for the guy, if only to drive a stake through the heart (if that's not too strong a word) of the neocon Republican project.

However, I must admit to immediately being deeply suspicious of the "America is ready to lead the world again" tripe from his inauguration speech. This stuff about pressurising the EU to let in Turkey is totally disrespectful. The EU is a serious European project, not a petri-dish in some US political science lab. Who the hell is he or Bush or whoever to tell Europeans how far and how fast we should integrate, and who should join our club. Especially when it comes to Muslim states. (Sort out your distorted relationship with the Middle East first before you go near us with suggestions on Turkey).

Still, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt to see what he has delivered within a year. It's far too early to judge his policies. And if he gets a second term, he might have matured into a much more convincing politician.
