Just heard that there has been a large explosion in downtown Islamabad, Pakistan. No other details as of yet.

Some are reporting body-parts, a number of injured, it seems to have targeted a police station used by Pakistani Special Branch. I'd say there are a number of dead...

Reports of two dead and a possible second blast. That country is on the point of civil war or anarchy.

Your right of course. There very well may be civil war.

The one last week seems to have been completely random. Some guy stepped on to the pavement from a car, in front of a bus stop, and pulled the cord.

They show really graphic footage on the news here too, since the scenes of attacks are never properly secured.

After today's attack they were showing photos of scattered, severed limbs. A leg here, and what's that... oh, an arm, right under the tree.

The pictures of the attack on the cricketers' convoy were chilling in how relaxed the gunmen were and how sure they were of walking away.

If you want chilling, check this out. Most of the organizations working in the earthquake affected areas used to have their headquarters in a town called Mansehra, in NWFP.

It is a beautiful place. Anyway, for the 2 years following the quake, everything was pretty much fine. There were some protests over a party thrown by aid workers, but then things calmed down again.

In 2008, a group of heavily armed men entered the offices of Plan International. They rounded everyone up and held them in a room on the ground floor. They then threw grenades into the room and opened fire on the staff of the NGO.

Before they left they set the building ablaze and torched several vehicles belonging to Plan International.

The attack lasted quite some time. Gunfire and explosions could be heard all over town. The security forces, regular police armed with AK-47s, were too scared to do anything. They simply stood back and waited for the attack to end and allowed the attackers to flee.

Needless to say, the place has not been the same since.
