Yeah, the Democrats may know what they stand for, the US public, however, have no idea. And Iraq is a pretty big item not to have a policy on, wouldn't you agree? And when the Dems try to communicate their policies, the GOP twists them: Gun Control [end all guns], Health Care [tax and spend], gay rights [destroy marriage] and environment [destroy jobs]. The Republicans are just plain better at campaigning.

I think the Americans are starting to compare US DOMESTIC policy under republicans 2000-2006 to what it was under demorats before 2000.
You're right, that's why Sen. Kerry was f**ked when Clinton got the heart attack. He could of toured the country reminding Americans how better life was under the Democrats.

Having a republican congress after 94, may americans say, was very good as it balanced things out.

Now maybe if they elect a democatic congress Bush will finally be forced to veto something
That's generally how it works. Seven of the last Eight second term midterms resulted in losses for the party in the White House. That being said, conventional wisdom was the the GOP would fair badly in 2002 and they retook the house. The Dems have a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
