McCain affair: NYT lawsuit retracted

Remember the story during the US election campaign which basically said that:


- John McCain had an affair with a female lobbyist (NYT didn't say affair but everyone else did)
- His staff were very concerned at her influence on him
- They tried to get him to break it off as they were worried

Well she sued - but has now withdrawn her suit & the NYT still stand over the story

CNN The defamation suit contended that the Times improperly suggested in a lengthy February 2008 article that Iseman had begun an affair with John McCain in 1999, before McCain undertook his first presidential run. Iseman’s lawyers also said the article implied that she unethically profited from her relationship with McCain.

Looks like the NYT was right
